Fishery Creek Park

This site is right at the tip of Hayling Island and has a slipway (tidal) with access to Chicester harbour. It is a great base for exploring the harbour by dinghy or canoe/kayak, but does dry out completely at low tide.

If you phone to book and make sure you go for the pitches next to the water and near the slip as the rest of the park is full of pensioners in long stay caravans . On the watersedge edge you can ignore all these!

We stayed here in September 2006.The site isn't commercial but has all conveniences. It takes mostly tents and small campervans .We chose a pitch right next to one of the slipways so we could keep an eye on Dawn Breeze (I know we didn't name her!) our enterprise dinghy. It is very laid back and you can leave your canoes/boats pretty much any where at the watersedge ready to go! They do hire out kayaks and canoes too.

Sailing on Ullswater amidst such stunning scenery is definitely one of those magic moments to remember for ever.
